B-1 Business Visa

Find Out The B-1 Visa Eligibility And Requirements

Introduction

The B-1 Visa for Business Visitors permits foreign national visitors to enter the U.S. to conduct bona fide business activities. The business visitor is prohibited from receiving a salary or payment, beyond reimbursement for incidental travel expenses, from any US employer or source.

The Attorneys at VisaPro will prepare and assist you with filing the required documents for the B-1 Visitor Visa.

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for a B-1 visa, the applicant must prove to the satisfaction of the U.S. consulate official that:

1. The purpose of the trip is to enter the U.S. for business and that the visit is temporary and upon the completion of the trip the applicant will return to his/her home country. The intent to leave the U.S. on completion of the purpose of the visit may be established by proving:

a. That the applicant has a residence in the home country which he/she has no intention to abandon.

b. Strong work and family ties in home country which require the applicant to return to his/her home country.

2. The individual has sufficient financial resources to fund the trip including all travel, accommodation and living expenses during the visit to the U.S.

3. The alien must have permission to enter a foreign country at the end of his/her stay in the U.S.

4. The individual would perform a legitimate and permissible business activity in the U.S.

Duration of Stay

While a B-1 visa may be issued for a validity of up to 10 years, a B-1 visitor for business may be admitted into the U.S. for not more than one year and may be granted extensions of temporary stay in increments of not more than six months each.
